There will also be tables by Fair Moans, Stonefruit Herb Collective, Pittsburgh Health Brigade, Let’s Get Free: The Women and Trans Prisoner Defense Committee and Pittsburgh Aids Task Force will be doing free and confidential STD and HIV testing.

Also on Saturday! A plant walk! with Michelle Soto – This workshop is free. From 1pm to 2pm Meet outside of the cemetery gates on Penn Ave at 1pm,then wander through the new Allegheny Memorial Trail there and then walk up Penn Ave. We’ll be walking in Garfield and the Allegheny Cemetery to identify common plants and talk about they edible and medicinal uses.  We’ll be wandering for 1-2 miles so wear comfortable shoes and feel free to bring a camera to take photos! Keats and Yeats are on your side.

Presented by jude vachon and lizzie anderson of the pittsburgh health brigade they will be providing a framework to learn together what good health care feels like and contributing to a new, public tool where people can comprehensively share their feedback on health care providers. please bring your ideas, passion for care and specific provider feedback (if you got it)!


293257_345358072220643_1370829176_n“Soup or Sex for SuperStars!” – 1:30-3 pm – Soup will be served! presented by Uma HIV-Cure advocate, Community Health Educator Queers of all genders, shapes and sexualities, put on your HARDhats and whatever makes you feel sexy, cuz safety has never felt this good! This workshop will disseminate information and skills to keep ourselves safer while making ourselves feel great. All bodies, genders and sexualities celebrated while we discuss STI/HIV prevention and care, communication skills and consent with partners. Come shy, awkward,comfortable or in between with all your curious questions for the confidential question box!

There will be a Bloody Mary Bar made by the loveliest Rose Landesberg

3:15-5pm  Kitchen Witch: Herbal Experiences workshop by Elliot Burrows and Vilde Chaya

“We will open our senses and intuitions to plants in this meditative, experiential herbal workshop. We’ll conduct a number of “provings” together, focusing our awareness on a few medicinal herbs to see what we can observe from smell, taste, and our perception of energetic movement within. We’ll then introduce some basic ways to bring the magic of herbs into your life. We are allotting ample time for questions of any sort about plants and herbal medicine.”

Sofia Moreno

Sofia Moreno, Sofia Moreno was born and raised in Coahuila, Mexico. In 1994 she immigrated to the United States, where she currently lives and works. Prior to moving to Chicago Moreno lived in Dallas, Texas. Sofia Moreno is a multimedia artist and her subjects include expressions of the sacred and profane, the body, sexuality, religion and socio-political issues within contemporary culture. Moreno is currently working on the follow up to her three-year project P o r n A g a i n. “I’m interested in the essence of the body rather than the form itself. I paint a sexually and spiritually confused youth.” – Sofia Moreno.


Testify: A Black Womanhood Series: Poem 2 in Pittsburgh   Joy KMT and Bekezela Mguni make up the powerful duo that is Testify. They are performing on July 11th at Dance Alloy and will be show casing some poems at Rhinestone Steel. We welcome back Bekezela, who hasn’t missed a year on the Rhinestone stage and are so happy to have the brilliant Joy KMT this year!

the Rainbow in the Dark Bus

Rainbow in the Dark is a traveling queer variety show traipsing across the U.S this summer. The tour hopes to illuminate the power of queer identity and build national community by embarking on a fantastical journey showcasing and  documenting underground queer talent and vision. In this way our bus will become a living moving museum of our queerdo community. Performers for this part of the journey include:

The Let’s Get Free Players present “Chin to the Sky, The Life sentence of Avis Lee” a creative story telling multi-media performance IN PROGRESS! A portion of the play will be presented and the audience is invited to reflect and advise. The intention of this performance is not only to lift up Avis’s case and fight to win her freedom but also to raise awareness about Life without Parole and women in prison.

Discussion on White Supremacy, Queers and Pittsburgh! Oh my! Hosted by WWHAT’S UP!? In this hour long discussion, we hope to create space to talk about how white supremacy/racism manifests in Pittsburgh’s queer scenes or to you as a Pittsburgh queer. Participants will generate topics they wish to discuss and depending on the size of the group, we may break up into smaller circles.
